Nigerian Week 2016

I AM NIGERIA

...A Call From The Fatherland

Like the trader in the market place, seeking to make ends meet and earn a living, just as a school boy with a smiling face, even in the face of improper amenities praying and believing for a brighter morning. Bringing to mind the teacher who pours out all for less and the soldier who lays down his life to protect the citizenry so peace will reign.  And oh the farmer, who leaves subsistence and thinks of the nation as a basket to fill.

 I AM NIGERIA...

The diversity of languages and ethnicities that come together, united as one.

The sound code that comes from the east, south, north and west.                                                                                                            A mighty voice to be heard, the voices of women and children who cry out in an accord.

I am that homeless man on the street in need of food, clothing and shelter. Not forgetting that family seeking to find a place and become elite, supplicating and having faith for the dream of a greater tomorrow.

Just like the heroes of our history who gave up their lives for the dreams they believed  in, Hoping against hope and believing that their noble cause will not be forsaken, Bearing in mind that , though the fight be lost , the war is conquered.

I am Nigeria.....

Born in multifariousness and blessed beyond compare                                                                                                                 Enriched with natural resources, Endowed with the true works and beauty of nature, I am the voices of people that cry out together as one, Standing tall through adversity Defeating the foes of peace.

I am faithful to my compatriots, I am loyal to the masses, I am honest, spotless and true,                                                                    Standing in honor like a lion to fight for the dream and defend it, Flying and soaring high where only eagles mount up on wings, Walking where angels fear to tread

I am very tough and not going to quit or break till the storm is confronted, good people great nation is who I have  become In variety I find unity, in togetherness I find strength.

Therefore, arise oh compatriots To the call of justice and defend the truth with love, strength and faith against the wolves of politics, nepotism and segregation So that the diligence of our noble pioneers will be justified.

The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors who purchased them for us with toil, and danger, and expense of treasure and blood, and transmitted them to us with care and diligence.

It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men, Though we are many people with different tongues, ethnicities and tribes. Let us be determined in our resolve to uphold the honor of our land for the generations to come. Let us in one accord, come together and rebuild our nation from the core, Putting aside our differences, personal goals and ambitions, And working together in our insurmountable strength to put our nation back on the elite seat where it belongs.

This is who I am, I am not just a place that is found on the map,

I am Nigeria...
